Connectivity — No Thunderbolt Support
Port options are not the same as on last year’s model. The proprietary barrel charger port and one USB-A port, for example, have both been dropped. Keep in mind that the HDMI port can only support external monitors at up to 4K and 30 Hz instead of 4K and 60 Hz.

Though there are two USB-C ports, only the left one is capable of charging the laptop or outputting to external monitors. The right USB-C port cannot do either.

Annoyingly, the right USB-A port is upside down whereas the left USB-A port is right-side up. This is perhaps the first laptop we’ve seen with such a counterintuitive USB configuration.

Webcam
Webcam clarity has improved over the InBook X1, but colors and resolution haven’t changed.

New to the InBook X2 are two front-facing white LEDs next to the webcam to improve lighting if in a dark room. These LEDs are more trouble than they are worth, however, as the light is blinding and uncomfortable.

Touchpad
The clickpad is larger than the one on the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 14 (12.5 x 7 cm vs. 10.5 x 7 cm) while being slightly narrower than the clickpad on the InBook X1 Pro. Cursor control is smooth and responsive without any sudden jumps or stops. The integrated clickpad buttons also have satisfying feedback when pressed, but they are shallow and relatively loud as a consequence.

Display — Wide Colors, Slow Response Times
Infinix is using a different panel for its InBook X2 when compared to the InBook Pro X1. The newer panel is brighter but with otherwise similar color reproduction and contrast levels. Unfortunately, black-white and gray-gray response times are much slower this time around for noticeable ghosting. This effect is most evident when moving the cursor or when running fast-moving games.
