The main differences between the Healthcare Edition and the “regular” edition are almost all under the hood. The Healthcare Edition will be certified to meet EN/IEC 60601-1-2 standards to operate near patients and medical devices, have optional dual-band RFID and FIPS-201 compliant fingerprint reader for more secure login, and have HP Easy Clean 2.0 that will disable all keys and touch features with the push of a button for cleaning purposes.

Other than the above, the Healthcare Edition will carry all the software and hardware features of the standard EliteBook 840 G6 including up to the Core i5-8665U with optional Sure View Gen2. HP has not announced exact launch dates, prices, or additional sizes other than this 14-inch model. If successful, however, we can see HP expanding the Healthcare Edition portfolio to encompass the 13.3-inch EliteBook 830 or 15.6-inch EliteBook 850 in the near future.
